September, 2019 marks the 15th anniversary of our super-agent and office manager, Kim Stankiewicz.
Kim started working for me in September, 2004 as a part time employee while she still attended San Diego State University as a finance major. It didn’t take long for Kim to become a full-time employee and an integral part of the agency. A very bright person and quick learner, Kim adapted to the insurance agency business under fire during our largest growth period when it was just the two of us in the office. Starting with auto insurance and then working into property insurance, Kim has added commercial insurance to her resume while also performing her other duties as office manager, in-house IT person, and generally doing anything and everything that needs doing. And she does all this while raising two boys, coaching their baseball teams, and attending many concerts.
I first met Kim in 1983 when we moved into our house in Carlsbad and she lived across the street. A few short years later, I became her soccer coach for eight years. Adding up all the years, I’ve known Kim for 35 years.
If it had been anybody other than Kim, I likely would have waited to bring on an employee. Ken May Insurance Services was in its infancy stages and I was able to handle the workload by myself by putting in a lot of long days but Kim persevered and in hindsight, bringing her into the agency was the best move that I ever made. Not just because our growth exploded but because Kim has wonderful vision for the agency and understands the journey I had envisioned. In fact, that journey became clearer and was elevated through my collaborations with Kim.
Please join me in congratulating Kim on 15 fine years at Ken May Insurance Services and to many, many more.
